Practical training

Practical training to become a teacher of German as a Foreign Language/Second Language.

Training is addressed to persons wishing to work as teachers in adult education in the field German as a Foreign Language/Second Language or teachers wishing to acquire further qualifications.

Participants attend weekly workshops to gain the necessary knowledge to be able to conceive, conduct and evaluate language lessons independently. In addition to conveying fundamental theoretical principles of adult education, training focuses on the application of practice-related methods. To this end, participants teach various course formats at levels A1–B2. Regular work shadowing forms an integral part of training. This serves to evaluate the quality of teaching including self-reassessment if appropriate, as well as to redefine the topics in the field of methods and didactics that the participants should develop further during their training.

Further employment is aimed at after successful completion of training.
