Train as an SVEB language teacher

The SVEB Course Instructor Level 1 certificate is a requirement for teaching in the adult education sector in Switzerland. The certificate demonstrates that you are able to prepare, lead and evaluate language courses and is recognised throughout Switzerland.

Requirements Very good knowledge of German (at least level C1)
Number of participants Maximum of 15
Length of course 90 contact hours made up of 45 x 120 minute lessons, plus 165 hours of independent learning via an online platform

These are hybrid courses, combining classroom teaching in Basel, Bern or Zurich and online content.

Certificate of completion Participants receive confirmation that they have completed the course. As soon as they can demonstrate that they have gone on to complete the required 150 hours of practical teaching experience, they are able to apply for the SVEB 1 certificate.

Participants may be able to gain this teaching experience by teaching at Academia Languages schools, though this cannot always be guaranteed.
